At Nulton Diagnostic and Treatment Center, we offer a service to help with depression called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Unlike other ways used to help combat depression, TMS has been proven to be more effective as well as show fewer to no symptoms. It is non-systemic and directly stimulates the brain without any type of anesthesia, which makes it easier to go about your daily life. If you have not seen successful results from other prescription medicines or therapy, TMS may be right for you. An evaluation is necessary to determine whether or not TMS is the right decision to treat your depression.
TMS:
FDA approved
Long lasting relief
Non-drug
Shows little to no symptoms
Non-invasive
Covered by most insurances
During the process of TMS Therapy doctors will use a targeted pulsed magnetic field similar to an MRI machine. A small magnetic coil will be placed around the patient’s head to create the targeted field which stimulates areas of the brain that are “under-active”. The patient may have a feeling of lightly tapping on their head and sounds of clicking. Since TMS does not require anesthesia, or show any major symptoms, you can continue on normally with the rest of your day after treatment. This makes it easier to go to and from appointments. Some reported symptoms of TMS therapy include discomfort, headaches, and slight pain near the area of treatment. These symptoms can be easily treated with non prescription medicines and the appointments only take a short amount of time everyday for 5 days, for approximately 4-6 weeks. If other treatments previously have not worked for you, schedule a consultation with Nulton Diagnostics.
