Child Mental Health Treatment

Sometimes it can be hard for a child to adjust to the changes that life throws her way. Separation … divorce … a new baby … a new school … although it seems manageable to an adult, these and other issues can create fears and anxiety that impact day-to-day and even long-term behavior in boys and girls of every age.

Our counselors are experienced in helping children navigate these turbulent waters. They spend the time your child needs to build a trusting, dependable relationship, one where a child can feel safe and change can occur.

Treatment

Our counseling services are focused on wellness and recovery so that your child can get back to feeling good and in control. With that in mind, family involvement and support is critical to the success of any treatment plan.

Because each child is unique, it is difficult to know how long treatment may last. However, therapy is never open-ended. It’s our top priority to make sure your child gets the help that’s needed as soon as possible and only for as long as necessary.

In some cases, treatment may include medication. Our team will work closely with you to discuss these options to help determine what’s best for your child.

While most counseling programs are based at our outpatient clinic, we also use telemedicine technology to link area children with a board certified child psychiatrist at a Recognized Institute. That means you no longer have to travel to Pittsburgh or other larger metropolitan areas to get your child specialized care.
